President's Prayer

A Call to Pray – March 2017

By March 8, 2017No Comments

‘God our Father, loves us. He is kind and has given us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope.’ 1 Timothy 2: 16

Let us give God thanks:

for the joy of sharing in worship and prayer together with our brothers and sisters;
for the joy of serving a living, forgiving and gracious Lord;
for answered prayers for The Gambia, Romania and Chile, and for the many ways the churches have responded to needs in those countries.

Let us remember before God:
The World Executive of the World Federation meeting in Chicago 6th -10th March;
Dr Brenda Smith and Matilda Johnson who attend the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW61) at the United Nations in New York this month;
the people suffering through the effects of drought (Yemen), fire and flood (Chile), earthquake (New Zealand and Italy) famine (South Sudan) tornadoes (USA) and war (Iraq and Syria).

Let us humbly ask God:

to guide and direct the leaders of all the nations, giving them wisdom, integrity and a desire for peace and justice.
Our sister Matilda in The Gambia asks us to ‘pray for wisdom and guidance for their President who has now put the new Cabinet together. Appointments have been made, but there are reservations voiced from many quarters. Also, people need to let go, forgive and move on. We cannot be dwelling on the past. We also need to pray that the outgoing President come to terms with his misdeeds and ask for forgiveness to the many people he has wronged. It is important that he does that, so that he will have peace in his heart and move on with his life in exile. I believe our logo says it all – the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations – the Gambia has to heal’.
Our sister Princess in the USA asks us to pray that the newly elected president of the United States of America will find a way to bring unity to the country rather than division, and that he will have compassion on people coming to the United States of America because of strife in their own country and are seeking a better life and/or just to visit with relatives and friends. We ask dear Lord, that he remember that God has made us in His image and that we all are His children and He loves all of us – no matter what country we are from or the color of our skin. The children song, Jesus Loves the Little Children, is a reminder of His love for all of mankind.

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They’re all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world.
Amen, amen, amen.
