The World Federation Song
written by Oknah Kim Lah, President 1981-86
To know Christ and to Make Him Known!
Our Federation women come.
Daughters of one Creator God,
From mountains high and oceans wide.
This we believe and proclaim!
We’ll praise together our Creator
We’ll sing our song of Liberty
We’ll sing our song of Unity.
To love Christ and to spread His love!
Our Federation women come,
From East and West and North and South,
From scattered isles and mighty plains.
This we believe and proclaim!
We’ll praise together our Redeemer
We’ll sing our song of Love
We’ll sing our song of Peace.
We Are Your Body, Lord
Written by Mrs Nan Frazer in memory of Hal Dixon
Tune – The Londonderry Air (Danny Boy)
We are Your body, Lord, Your love compels us
To join our hearts and hands and feet as one;
To work together, serve and share with gladness
The gospel news of Jesus, God’s own Son.
In humble prayer we give ourselves in service
It is the least that Your love could demand.
We seek Your face and ask for Your forgiveness
Then as You promised, Father, come and heal our land.
Lord, search our hearts and make us more like Jesus
In showing love when faced with shame and sin.
Remove all trace of prejudice or hatred
And make us pure and whole and true within.
Just as Your heart felt pain for those around You,
May we too weep with those who suffer loss;
And share the news that hope will spring eternal
By sharing in the saving power of Calvary’s cross.
Lord, use our hands to welcome in the stranger,
To feed the poor, give help to those in need;
Comfort the sick, the lonely and the dying
Without regard for colour, class or creed.
Just as Your hands reached out to those around You,
Dried bitter tears and banished grief and pain;
So may our hands be ready, Lord, to serve You,
So that Your gentle, healing touch is known again.
Lord, guide our feet to follow in Your footsteps,
To go and share Your gospel news of peace.
For many live in terror and in violence,
Who only through God’s love can find release.
Just as You walked that road to Calvary’s mountain,
Gave all You had, and suffered, bled and died,
So help us seek the reconciliation,
For which our Saviour, Jesus Christ, was crucified.
