Nyashadzashe Nemacha is an accomplished Audit Associate and ESG specialist with over five years experience across the banking, manufacturing, and nonprofit sectors. She is a Fellow of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and serves as Zimbabwe’s global Chair under the leaders 2050 initiative, promoting Net Zero commitments and sustainable development. Her professional work focuses on applying sustainability and ESG principles to deliver impactful, results-driven solutions across sectors. Beyond her corporate career, Nyashadzashe is a seasonal farmer specialising in rabbit husbandry, legume cultivation, and horticulture. She is also a social entrepreneur and passionate advocate for gender equality, committed to supporting vulnerable communities across Africa through innovative and sustainable initiatives. As a Helen Kim Memorial Scholar (2022-2026) under the World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women, she actively contributes to regional leadership and church development, particularly in finance, AI, media, and sustainability.

Exploring Forgotten Women in the Old Testament

Led by Rev Jenny Pathmarajah

This study invites you to have your understanding of the texts turned upside down. It encourages a re-reading of Scripture with fresh eyes, enabling us to encounter God – God’s love for us – in a deeper, more compassionate, and more truthful way.

Jenny is a Methodist minister based in Cambridge, England. She serves as Methodist Chaplain to the University of Cambridge and is a Trustee of the Methodist Church Purposes, alongside her ministry in two local churches. She has a deep passion for reading the Bible and helping others engage with it in ways that are accessible, thoughtful, and constructively challenging. Jenny also has a strong love of music. She was privileged to serve as Musical Director for the World Assembly in Texas in 2016. More recently, she completed a master’s degree in music and gained her Licentiate in piano performance from a music conservatoire. Jenny credits the WFMUCW as being fundamental in her calling to ministry and in shaping her faith and vocation. She is delighted to be giving something back through this Bible study.

This Workshop provides a safe and supportive space to explore the pain and journey of losing a child in its many forms. It reflects on cultural, societal, and biblical perspectives on grief, while recognising that everyone grieves differently. Through interactive engagement, participants are encouraged toward healing, remembrance, and hope.

Only a small part of Julie Caddick is able to identify with the country of her birth, England. After 62 years of life in Zimbabwe, which encompassed her being raised and educated in different parts of the country, and being trained as a teacher, she settled in Bulawayo to marry Bruce, raise 4 sons, and embraced worshipping with the people known as Methodists. After fulfilling a desire to study theology, she was the director of the Women’s Ministry of the Theological College of Zimbabwe for 10 years, training lay women in their personal development and leadership. Equipping women to be all God created them to be is her mission.

Soul Care

Led by Jana Jones, Deaconess Heidi Careaga, and Dr Melba McCallum

Life can be overwhelming. This is why it’s important to slow down and take time to nurture your whole self: mind, body, and spirit. This workshop will explore ways women can engage in soul care experiences including personal time, small groups and in a retreat experience. Soul care retreats are designed to bring people together to experience rest, rejuvenation, and spiritual nourishment. Join this workshop to learn more. Soul care is sacred.

Jana Jones currently lives south of Denver, Colorado and is a member of the Mountain Sky Conference of the United Methodist Church. As a retired registered nurse, she spent the majority of her career as a School Nurse Consultant, working to enable students with health issues full access to educational services. Her life objective is to understand individuals as holistic persons, each deserving of respect, love, and compassion as a beloved child of God. As a long-time member of United Women in Faith, she has served on many levels and committees, including as a Director to the General Board of Global Ministries, Chair of the UWFaith Reading Program, and currently is serving as the National President of the Board of Directors and Program Advisory Group.

Deaconess Heidi J. Careaga, a native of Guatemala, came to the United States at age eleven. Her early experiences as an immigrant and the kindness she received shaped her lifelong call to “love the stranger.” Her ministry focuses on social justice and advocacy, especially around immigration. Heidi serves as District Administrator for the Wisconsin Conference of The United Methodist Church, finding deep joy in supporting clergy and lay leaders. For more than twenty-six years, she has served in ministry alongside her husband, Rev. Carlos Careaga. They are the proud parents of Deidre, a college student, and Ewan, a high school senior—her greatest source of strength and wholeness. A lifelong member of United Women in Faith, Heidi has served at every level and now serves as National Board Vice President. In 2024, she was consecrated as a Deaconess. She credits God’s grace and the women who mentored her for shaping her journey of service and compassion.

Dr. Melba McCallum is a Deaconess in the NC Conference UMC. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Partners In Ministry National Mission Institution (NMI). McCallum has been instrumental in leading the Ministry in becoming the first and only NMI in the NCC. The Ministry is dedicated to dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline, nurturing, equipping, and unlocking the potential of our children and youth, and empowering and strengthening families living in blighted neighborhoods and communities. McCallum holds a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from N.C. State University, retired as Vice President from Bladen Community College after 30 years of service, served on the National Association of Deaconess, Home Missionary, and Home Missioner Leadership team for eight years and served as Chairperson for four years. She is a Community Developer under GBGM; serves on the SEJ Leadership team, NCCUWF Leadership team, and as a National Director of the National UWF Board.

Dr. Marjory Chikoore is a mother, grandmother, and globally respected leader whose life bridges faith, psychology, and empowerment. With qualifications in Educational Administration, Social Work, Divinity, Business, and Psychology, she has served in human resources, social work, chaplaincy, therapy, and community care. For over 39 years in ministry as a chaplain, district worker, pastor’s wife, and therapist, she has mentored couples, strengthened marriages, guided singles, preached internationally, and authored 22 inspirational books.

Who are You, Lord?

“Who Are You, Lord?” is a reflective workshop exploring how our perceptions of God shape our faith, prayer, trust, and hope. Through personal reflection, biblical teaching, and discussion, participants discover a deeper understanding of God’s character and cultivate a more authentic relationship with Him.

Chichi Ndlovu-Fontin is a New Zealand-based author, finance professional, and a student of God’s Word and seeker of His presence. She is the author of Hey Girl, I Get It: A 31-Day Devotional for the Single Woman and loves sharing stories of God’s faithfulness through life’s unexpected seasons. Chichi is passionate about creating spaces where people can connect with God for themselves. Through storytelling, reflection, and honest conversations about faith, she encourages others to move beyond second-hand experiences of God and develop a personal relationship with Him. Chichi serves in church ministry and enjoys music, poetry, nature, and spending time with family and friends. Her greatest desire is to see people encounter God in meaningful ways and discover the hope, freedom, and peace that come from walking closely with Him.

Liturgical Dance

Led by Orletta John

This Liturgical Dance Workshop, themed “From Sackcloth to Joy – Arising in Faith through Dance,” is a 4-day immersive worship experience that explores dance as a sacred form of ministry, healing, and testimony. Rooted in Psalm 30:11 and aligned with the World Assembly theme “Arise and Shine,” the workshop guides participants on a spiritual journey from lament and limitation into joy, confidence, and embodied faith through devotionals, choreography, reflection, and communal worship. Attendees will gain both spiritual formation and practical skills – learning choreography infused with anointing, the symbolism of dance apparel, discipline and care of the body, and how to prepare worship offerings – while fostering intergenerational community and women’s leadership. An optional day introduces the integration of hand and wind instruments into worship dance, and throughout the program, worship is connected to social transformation by engaging themes of health, gender equality, peace, and justice, equipping participants to return home prepared to lead and sustain liturgical dance ministry in their churches and communities.

A 25 Influential Women Leaders Awardee – Guyana, and Helen Kim Memorial Scholar, Orletta Merle John is a Guyanese educator, Accredited Local Preacher, dance practitioner and poet with over a decade of teaching and leadership experience. She holds degrees in Social Work, Education, Humanities, and Industrial Relations & Management, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Guyana. Orletta currently serves as Administrative Officer at SBM Offshore. From 2014 to 2024, she was employed as a Senior Assistant Mistress attached to the New Amsterdam Secondary School (one of Guyana’s top secondary schools), where she mentored more than 1,500 students. Her active Homework Club continues to be a beacon of hope for her community. In addition, she is a proud Rotaractor attached to the Rotaract Club of the University of Guyana, currently serving in District 7030 as the Learning and Development Chair. As a trained liturgical dance minister through ANBAL Praise Academy and Eagles International Training Institute (TEN Network), Orletta has faithfully ministered through dance for over 14 years. As her journey under the Helen Kim Memorial Scholarship comes to a close, she looks ahead with renewed vision, launching new initiatives such as the Global Liturgical Dance Network and the Nurse Merle John Educational Scholarship as strategic steps toward expanding education, empowerment, and faith-based leadership.

Tui Kakala: Making a Graland/Lei of Flowers

This workshop celebrates the rich Tongan art of teu (preparing), toli (gathering), and tui (weaving) flowers into beautiful garlands. Participants will learn the symbolism, cultural meaning, and deep relational values behind making a garland, while creating their own kakala to take home.

Sulieti Pau’uvale Moa is a proud Tongan educator, cultural leader, and pioneer in Pasifika Early Childhood Education in Aotearoa New Zealand. With over two decades of service to Pacific communities, she is widely recognised for her commitment to preserving and revitalising cultural knowledge, language, and traditional arts. As Director of ECESTACS Ltd, Sulieti works across Aotearoa supporting ECE services, strengthening Pacific leadership, and weaving cultural frameworks—such as Tui Kakala—into teaching, learning, and community development. Passionate about honouring identity and uplifting Pacific peoples, Sulieti brings her heart, heritage, and lived experience into every space—sharing the beauty of Tongan culture with the world.

Music Workshop

My name is Suvania Mann-Tufuga. I am a proud Samoan Christian, a devoted wife to a Godly Samoan man, and a blessed mother of two beautiful daughters. I was born in Samoa and moved to Aotearoa New Zealand with my parents when I was just two years old. Over the years, I’ve called Gisborne, Hamilton, and Wellington home, but I now reside permanently in Auckland. Music has been a central part of my life from a very young age. I began playing the piano at the age of five, and by thirteen, I was already leading church choirs. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of directing and accompanying various church choirs throughout the years. Currently, I serve as Choir Director for Henderson Methodist Church and Mangere East Methodist Church Choir, and am also part of the music team for the Sinoti Samoa Mission Choir. While I work professionally as a community support worker, my deepest passion lies in music ministry – using the gift of music to serve, inspire, and uplift our communities in faith. Faafetai tele lava, and may God continue to be glorified through all that we do.
