Pray for safety for the World Officers and Area Presidents as they travel to Switzerland for the Executive Meeting from 22nd to 27th April.
Give thanks for the preparation Vice President, Regula, and the Methodist Church in Basel have done to receive the Executive and facilitate the meeting.

Pray for the people of Sumatra in Indonesia following the 8.6 Richter scale earthquake.
Give thanks that tsunami early warning system worked and that there was no tsunami.
Give thanks that international aid agencies have responded quickly .

Pray for the people of Norway as they relive the trauma of the mass killings in 2011 while the trial of the murderer takes place.
Pray for those offering counselling at this time and that justice will be done.

Continue your prayers for the people of Syria.
Pray that international actions and the cease- fire will have lasting effects for the peace of this nation.

Pray for the Methodist Church in New Zealand and particularly for the women as they mourn the death of Mrs Margaret Gordon, widow of the Rev. Bruce Gordon, a former President of the New Zealand Methodist Church.
Margaret served the Women’s Fellowship of NZ in many capacities and was the World Federation South Pacific Area President.

King George V of Tonga in the South Pacific died on Sunday 18th March in Hong Kong. Tonga is a Christian nation with the King as the Head of the Methodist Church (Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga). The Queen Mother, Queen Mata’aho, is the President of the Tongan Unit of the World Federation.

Please pray for the Tongan people, the Methodist Church, the members of the Royal Family, and especially for the Queen Mother.
Give thanks for the faith of these people which will sustain them. Give thanks for the leadership of His Majesty in the move to transparent democracy 18 months ago.
Pray for a peaceful transition to the rule of the new King – youngest brother of George V – and his wife, Nanasi.

Pray for the people of Mexico who have been rocked by an earthquake – again. Prayer for strong spirits and generous aid in their time of need.

Pray for the continuing, and worsening, situation in Syria. Pray for the decisions the United Nations will make in the resolution of hostilies. Pray for the families of those who have been killed , those who care for the injured, and those who are risking their lives in the fight for justice.

Pray for the World as we approach Easter- that the message of hope will resound in every land and that we will be vibrant witnesses to the power of our God.

Pray for the leaders and people of Syria.
Pray for the cessation of attacks on innocent people and a resolution to troubles throughpeaceful elections.
Pray for those mourning the death of relatives.

Pray for Palestine and especially the persecuted Christians there that they may hold fast to the faith.
Pray they may know God’s hands supporting them and the love of the church world wide.

Pray for the Federation Vice-President, Regula Stotz, as she prepares to host the World Executive meeting in Basel, Switzerland in April.

Pray for the Area Presidents, Vice-Presidents and local arrangements committees of North America, South Asia and West Africa as they begin preparations for their Area Seminars.

Give thanks for the success of the first meeting of the new World Methodist Council Steering Committee held at Lake Junaluska, North Carolina, USA.
Good sharing, good bonding, good committee reports, good forward planning.

Give thanks for the leadership provided by the Chair, Bishop Poalo Lockman, Vice-Chair, Bishop Sarah Davis, and new General- Secretary, Bishop Ivan Abrahams.

Our Past Secretary, Shunila Ruth, has been attacked by 4 men. She fell down stairs and required hospitalisation. Her car keys and laptop were stolen.
Give thanks that Shunila was not more seriously hurt.
Pray for Shunila’s restoration to full physical health and that she will not be too traumatised to continue her outreach work.

Our President Emerita, Chita Millan, recently lost her brother.
Give thanks for the Christian hope of eternal life.
Pray for Chita and the extended family as they grieve for their loved one.

Just 12 months after devastating floods in Australia, again flood waters after incessant rain have inundated the states of Queensland and New South Wales.
Pray for those who have lost homes, farmlands and businesses and those who have had to be evacuated.
Give thanks for the emergency services bringing help to those stranded by the water.

A ferry carrying 350 -mostly students and teachers to start the new school year –  from the island of New Britain to Lae on the mainland, floundered 100kms off land.
Give thanks that 250 have been rescued with no serious injuries.
Pray for those still missing, their families as they anxiously await news, and those who are searching by boat and plane.

The World Methodist Council Executive, under its reorganised form, meets for the first time since the World Conference in Duban in 2011, at the headquarters in Lake Junalaska, North Carolina, USA, from February 21st -24th.
Prayer for safe travels for the Executive members including our own President, Ann, and for productive discussions.
Give thanks for Bishop Ivan Abrahams who has taken up the role as General Secretary.
