‘So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us;’ 2 Corinthians 5:20a
As Christ’s ‘Chosen People: Called to Proclaim’ we pray we might faithfully represent Christ in the world. We pray we might speak truth in all circumstances; show love to all people; challenge injustice; ask for forgiveness when we have fallen short; trust in God’s grace and be thankful.
Please pray for the World Officers as they begin to visit each of our World Federation Areas, lead Weaving Together Programs for Unit leaders, and participate in Area Seminars. Pray for Leu as she ensures our funds are managed well, for Mataiva as she maintains contact with Area Officers to ensure programs run smoothly, for Matilda as she co-ordinates our United Nations involvement. Please pray for me as I endeavour to be an ambassador for the World Federation and for Christ, that I shall know when to speak out and when to remain silent.
Pray for your Area President and Vice-President, and your Area’s Helen Kim Memorial Scholars, that they may support one another and lead more women to a personal knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Give thanks for our President Emerita Ann, who continues to engage with the life of our Federation, and for her son Nicholas who still acts as webmaster for us. Give thanks, too, for Ligia and her husband who produce the quarterly Tree of Life newsletter.
Pray that Brenda, Chloe and Ivonne, our UN representatives in New York and Latin America may be strengthened for their tasks. Give thanks for the work that UN Women do to bring about justice and equality for women around the world.
Pray for our Senior Friends, especially at this time, Cynthia Pozzo, a former World Officer, who mourns the passing of her husband.
Pray for the people of Myanmar who will host the South Asia Area Seminar this month, welcoming women from India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan to Yangon and leading a field trip to Upper Myanmar for all participants. Pray for safety for all who travel to Myanmar for this event.
As we enter the period of Lent, pray that we shall each be guided to re-examine our behaviour in the light of Christ and rededicate our life to his service.
Lord Jesus Christ, we would come to you
live our lives for you,
Son of God.
All your commands we know are true;
your many gifts will make us new;
into our lives your power breaks through,
living Lord.
