“But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved.” Ephesians 2:4-5.
When you are focused on something, you will see it all around you. During my personal Bible studies, in my conversation with other Christians, in the things that happened to me, in the beauty of the world around me I could see God’s love for me more clearly than ever before. The best way to let the light of God shine in the world is by focusing on His love for you and passing it on to all the other people who will cross your path in the year that lies ahead.
The Apostle Paul teaches us about God’s immense love, mercy and grace, saying that even though believers were spiritually dead in sin, God made them alive with Christ, saving them not by works but as a gift, highlighting God’s abundant compassion and undeserved favor for us. Our Father is rich in mercy, great in love and by His grace we were saved. May we too, in the year ahead, experience the inexpressible love of God for us in a new way and may He enfold us in that love every day of the year that lies ahead of us.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank you for your overwhelming mercy and love that pursued us when we were sometimes lost. Thank you for making us alive in Christ by your grace. In this new year Lord, may the Holy Spirit help us to fully grasp the freedom and new life found in your grace, empowering us to live in that newness daily. Thank you for showing mercy to us because you loved us, and by that we are recipients of your love. Help us pass this love to others for your glory. Amen
