The World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women, at its 13th World Assembly in Houston, Texas, 29 August 2016 through 2 September 2016, submits the following Resolution to be presented during the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW 61) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, 13-24 March, 2017.

RESOLUTION:

The 13th World Assembly of the World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women, in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council – ECOSOC – resolves that we are actively not supporting prostitution, sex for gain, pornography and industries that support them. We demand that associated organizations, including Non Governmental Organizations, both civic and religious, fight for the right of women and children to be treated with respect and dignity, and that the laws in all countries are changed to reflect this belief.
