Area President’s Report
Greetings to you all my sisters of the Federation family in the Name of our Lord. Glory, Praise and Honor be unto our God for journeying with us this far in our various roles of leadership and for the answered prayer in leading us to this meeting. May His name be praised and honored. This is my brief report after the South Pacific Area Seminar in Fiji in 2018.
In 2018 prior to the South Pacific Area Meeting in Fiji, a meeting was convened to elect leaders for our Area for the next quinquennium (2021 – 2026) and they were introduced to all the seminar participants. Olive Tanielu as the incoming President and Rev Gloria Marke as the incoming Vice President. May I take this time to congratulate them and to officially welcome them to this first-ever meeting in our Area. Their names will be submitted for endorsement at the World Assembly meeting in 2021 and handing over will be done during that time.
In March 2019, I was supposed to attend the World Executive in Hong Kong but due to passport and visa problems, I asked Ilaisaane, the Vice President to attend instead. I had to prepare our Area report and sent it to her to present at the meeting. Thank you so much Ilaisaane for our teamwork together.
Last year I was invited to attend the United Church Women’s Fellowship Board and also to their 4th Unit Seminar. It was a very rich time of fellowship for all the women especially with the presence of the six sisters in PNG Unit. That was the first time in which the women launched Thursdays in Black.
Our next South Pacific Area Seminar (2023) will be hosted by the Solomon Islands Unit and our two new incoming leaders, after the handing over in 2021 will work closely with them.
